The Appeal

There are vehicles it would be a crying shame to restore. This is one of them. It has taken this 86" Series I Land Rover seven decades to look this good; acquiring a working patina and with it, tons of character.
The Series I is where the Land Rover story begins and is therefore among the most revered of all British utility vehicles. Early examples from the mid-1950s are increasingly sought after by enthusiasts and collectors. This 1955 example comes with an appealing backstory: it spent much of its working life on a shooting estate before being laid up for several decades.

Now back on the road, the vendor acknowledges the overall condition is far from perfect, but considers it an honest, working Series I, just as a proper 4x4 should be. It presents an opportunity to acquire a beautifully patinated early example of this seminal motor car,
