The Appeal
The 350SL is undoubtedly the most versatile and balanced of the legendary R107. Its 3.5-litre V8, paired with a smooth automatic gearbox, offers a top-notch tourer in one of the most legendary Mercs ever built. Rugged, effortlessly handsome and with a comfortable executive trim, it's little wonder that these machines continue to evoke so much enthusiasm.
This 1979 example has been in the hands of its current keeper since 1991, garage-kept throughout. It's a well-presented machine inside and out, with plenty of character. Mechanically, the car has benefited from considered upkeep in recent years, and the vendor tells us that the engine is running as it should with that ever-sonorous V8 soundtrack. The original Mercedes-Benz First Aid box is still present, complete and unopened.
