The Appeal

Built in a time when Mercedes-Benz were building the best cars in the world, the boxy R107 quickly gained a reputation as a perfect top-down summer roadster, with big boxy proportions, a handsome cabin and an executive-level trim that felt purpose-built to drive sun-soaked boulevards.

This 1980 car has been in the current keeper's hands since July 2015 and has been dry stored with very limited use over the past five years. It comes with an extensive service history and, despite being exempt from MOT testing as a historic vehicle, a recent test was obtained for peace of mind, returning only advisories for corroded front coil springs.

The vendor notes a couple of minor electrical issues but states that only light fettling would be required to bring the car to show standards. Riding on its original "Mexican Hat" alloy wheels, it's a handsome retro machine that's ready and waiting to tour with its lucky new keeper.
