The Appeal

Europe's answer to the Mustang was a car that was rapidly becoming one of the most famous cars in Europe, to boot. By the 1980s, it had become the stuff of legend, and legions of drivers were soon chasing down the impressive fuel-injected Capri to put it through its paces - a deeply aspirational, capable car to the core.

The 2.8i's Cologne V6 engine, Recaro seats, and that unmistakable long-bonnet silhouette now make for an utterly iconic classic, and one that's bound to garner any enthusiast's attention.

This 1987 example, finished in red, has been in the hands of its current owner since March 2022 and has since undergone three years of restoration work by Drake Vehicle Services, with over £10,000 spent to future-proof the handsome machine. The engine received a complete overhaul in 2024, and the vendor reports that it runs beautifully with a smashing soundtrack. With an MOT valid until December 2026, we understand it's also ready and waiting to drive away with its lucky new keeper.
