The Appeal
Of all '80s 'fast Fords', the Capri 2.8 Injection is one of the most desirable. Its Cologne V6 and Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection delivered genuine performance wrapped in one of the era's most recognisable silhouettes, and today these cars enjoy a passionate and knowledgeable following. Finding one that has been thoroughly sorted both structurally and mechanically is a rare prospect.
This 1983 example has been in the hands of its current keeper, a dedicated Capri Club member, since 2013. Originally acquired as a restoration project, it has since benefited from significant structural bodywork by a well-regarded specialist, alongside a thorough mechanical overhaul. The vendor states that you would be hard-pressed to find a better example that has not been fully restored. With a standard engine throughout, a five-speed Type 9 gearbox, and shark grey Recaros, it retains the character that makes the 2.8i so appealing.
A good history file accompanies the car, including invoices and photographs documenting the restoration work. Described by its owner as a head-turning and rapid car, this Capri is offered as a reluctant sale.
