Description

KEY FACTS

  • This Ford Mustang GT 390 Fastback is an iconic and exciting American muscle car, presented after a detailed restoration at a cost of £50,000.
  • Under the bonnet is an 'S-code' 6.4-litre (390ci) naturally aspirated V8, driving the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission.
  • First registered in 1967, the seller believes it was previously located in Arizona, prior to being shipped from the US to the UK.
  • The odometer shows 300 miles, though the total mileage from new is not known.

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

  • The car has been refinished in black paintwork over a black leather-trimmed interior with chrome accents.
  • Equipment includes power steering, an AM radio, and Deluxe seat belts.
  • Factory options include full leather seats, GT 390 upgrades, the Exterior Decor Group, and the Interior Decor Group.
  • Accompanied by two keys, the original letter of sale, a full Marti report, extensive photo evidence of the rebuild, invoices, UK import documents, and a 'Best in Class' rosette received at the Lympstone Manor 'Celebration of Speed' in 2025.
  • Please note: the chassis number on the V5C has a typo (a '5' instead of an 'S' as the fifth character), so the next owner will need to update this.

CONDITION

  • Please refer to the photo gallery to assess the exterior and interior condition.
  • A detailed invoice covering the £50,000 restoration is shown in the photo gallery, with the work done including: acid-dipping the bodywork prior to the bare metal respray; a rebuild of the engine with new bearing shells, honed bores, valves and springs, oil pump, water pump, and HEI distributor; new wiring loom; new front brake discs and pads, and brake lines; all new suspension springs and shock absorbers; new wheels and tyres; rebuilt coolant radiator; new Toploader clutch, flywheel, bearing, and clutch assembly arms; Hooker exhaust manifolds and MagnaFlow rear silencers; new fuel tank and sender; floor and roof soundproofed.
  • Specific notes from the seller include: minor scratches are noted on the console and interior chrome, which were intentionally kept original rather than replaced. While the seats, headliner, and carpets were re-upholstered, the door cards and some other trims were preserved. The tachometer is a bit temperamental (intermittent).
  • The last MOT test was on 5 July 2025, resulting a first-time pass with no advisories. It is understood to be exempt from mandatory MOT testing.

SERVICE HISTORY

  • The car underwent the extensive restoration over the last six years, and has only covered some 300 miles since completion of the work.
