Description

A wider Carrera 4S body enhances the already fantastic shape of the 997 911 variant.

Paint

Finished in the desirable colour of Seal Grey, the paintwork presents well. There are some age-related stone chips on the bonnet, and it appears the front bumper, rear quarter panels, and rear bumper were repainted during a previous keeper's ownership.

The images are taken from a range of angles to show the car as you would see it in person, so please take the time to fully assess the high-resolution photos and videos before forming your own opinion of the paintwork.

Bodywork

Walking around the 911, the panels align well with an equal gap, and no dings or dents were spotted.

The fabric roof is in good condition, with just the odd age-related crease, as you would expect. It operates correctly, going down and up, and a new motor was fitted within the past couple of years.

We've highlighted our observations in more detail through our high-resolution images and videos, so please take the time to look through all the media files for a detailed view of what’s on offer and to assess the condition of the car for yourselves.

Dashboard

The leather dashboard is free from scuffs or damage.

All instruments work correctly, and no warning lights were displayed when we visited the car.

The odometer shows ~78,030 miles.

The drive

Combining the powerful 3.8-litre flat-six with the confidence of four-wheel drive, the 911 Carrera 4S feels planted through corners, with sharp steering and excellent body control. The smooth power delivery makes it equally enjoyable on a spirited blast or a relaxed cruise with the roof down.

There’s a real sense of occasion, too, thanks to that unmistakable flat-six soundtrack enhanced with the ‘Gundo’ modification.

Certainly a driver-focused feel for the 997 variant of the iconic 911.

Glass and trim

The windows look to be in good condition, with no noticeable scratches or damage spotted other than the odd age-related mark.

The headlights are in good condition, with no damage.

There is a small crack in the passenger-side rear light, but this is small and on the corner.

Please view the photos and video below to review the condition of the glass and trim for yourself.

Wheels and tyres

The original wheels are in good condition; there is a small amount of discolouration to the silver section of the centre caps, which could be easily replaced if desired.

The tyres are a matching set of Hankooks, all with a good amount of tread remaining.

Please take the time to review the photos and videos for a detailed view of the exterior, wheels and tyres so you can make your own assessment of their condition. Tyres are a key safety item, and you should consider replacing any that are cracked, perished, unevenly worn or over 10 years old.

Seats and carpets

The black leather wingback seats are in good condition; there is a small amount of creasing and very light colour wear to the driver’s bolster, looking in keeping with the age.

The carpets throughout are in good order, with no real signs of excessive wear.

Engine and gearbox

Producing around ~350 bhp, the 3.8-litre performs very well, with no issues reported by Stephen.

A previous keeper carried out the ‘Gundo’ exhaust modification, which does make it slightly louder than a stock exhaust. A service, including spark plugs, was carried out in 2025.

The Tiptronic five-speed gearbox has a smooth change, and the 911 pulls strongly throughout the range.

Electrics and other

The switchgear inside the 911 appears in good condition and is said to be working correctly, including the air conditioning, which blows cold.

There is an upgraded Kenwood touchscreen head unit fitted, which features DAB, wireless Apple CarPlay and a reversing camera, and connects nicely to the factory Bose speakers.

History and paperwork

Aside from the recent engine rebuild, there are also nine service stamps gathered throughout the 911’s life, the last one being just a few hundred miles ago at 77,978. There are also invoices listing all the parts fitted by Hartech, along with photographs of the engine rebuild. The car comes with a cover, you can see this at the end of the history gallery.

Two keys are included with the car, and the MOT is valid until 28.08.2027, which was passed with no advisories.

Please note the registration J30 SAB is not included and will be removed before the auction ends.

By getting this far, you’re clearly in the market for a 997 911, of which there are plenty to choose from. Convertibles are not so numerous, and Carrera 4S convertibles even fewer; add in those with a full Hartech engine rebuild around ~6,000 miles ago, and the choice diminishes, making this an excellent 911 to get behind the wheel of.

We’ve carried out our usual seller checks, including photo ID and V5 verification, as well as a history check on the vehicle. This is a professional HPI check that will highlight if the car has previously been stolen, recorded as being involved in an accident or has any outstanding finance. Please note, this does not include a mileage history check.

We’ve summarised our own view of the car based on information provided by the seller; however, as you can see, we go to great lengths to photograph and video each car in high-resolution detail so you can make your own assessment from the comfort of your home. So please sit back, have a cuppa and take your time reviewing everything in this listing.

Viewings are also welcomed on all our listings. Please get in touch to arrange a suitable time; we just need to speak to you first and receive valid photo ID before confirming.

If there’s anything you’re unsure about, no matter how small, please ask the owner in the comments section before placing your bids, as bids cannot be retracted and form a binding contract if you win the car, just like at a traditional auction house.

Suspension and brakes

On the road, the car is great fun; it is a Porsche, after all, and no knocks or bangs were heard coming from either corner of the car.

The discs and pads were replaced in 2025 and still look in good shape, with no lip to the edges. These bring the car to a stop in a straight line, with no juddering through the pedal.

Steering wheel gear stick

The original leather steering wheel has a few minor scuffs to the leather; the buttons are in good condition, with no signs of excessive use, as is the gear selector.
