Overview
When the 997 arrived in 2004, its round headlights tipped a hat to the 993 and the shape went straight into the timeless file. It became Porsche's best-selling 911, with production running until 2012. Tremendous handling, a glorious flat-six soundtrack and those looks still make a compelling case two decades on.
This Carrera 2 Coupe was supplied new by Porsche Centre East London in October 2005, finished in Cobalt Blue Metallic over Ocean Blue leather. Blue on blue is a bold call, and it works brilliantly here: deep and glossy outside, rich and inviting within. Whoever ordered it clearly enjoyed the options list, with optional 19-inch Carrera S wheels and a cabin kitted out for distance work.
Two pedals and 325bhp from the 3.6-litre flat-six make this the 911 you'll take into town, up the M40 and across the Chilterns. Recent owners have kept on top of things too, with a generous run of suspension, brake and cooling work over the past few years.
Blue-on-blue Carreras with this much kit don't come along every week. This one looks the part, wears its options with pride and is ready to be enjoyed as a properly usable 911 GT.

Summary
Cobalt Blue over Ocean Blue, a generous factory spec and those optional Carrera S wheels give this 997 real presence. Add a healthy run of recent suspension, brake and cooling work and it's ready to use from day one. Long weekends, motorway slogs, a cheeky B-road on the way home: the Tiptronic S makes all of it easy.
