The Appeal

Oft-regarded as one of the finest of the 'old guard' built by Mercedes-Benz, the R129 took the familiar traits of the R107 and modernised it gracefully, maintaining the rock-solid build quality and executive character while building it into an executive tourer in its own right.

As a 1999 example, this SL280 is one of the later facelift cars, benefiting from the updates and improvements introduced towards the end of the R129's celebrated production run. The vendor notes that the car is in factory-standard specification and retains its original character. With a private registration plate included and a fresh MOT, it's now ready and waiting for its lucky new keeper.
