The Appeal
The V12-powered Jaguar XJS remains one of the most characterful grand tourers of its era. With its silky 5.3-litre twelve-cylinder engine and elegant long-bonnet proportions, it became one of the most aspirational cars in the country when it hit the market. These executive-level cars turned plenty of heads on British roads and soon gained attention on the other side of the Atlantic, too.
This 1990 example has been in the same family since it was purchased new from Harwoods of Pulborough. Used sparingly and garaged throughout by its original lady owner, it covered just over 50,000 miles before being placed into long-term storage in 2016.
Recommissioned in 2024, close to £10,000 has since been invested in bringing it back to health, with work spanning the engine, exhaust, steering, cooling system, and rear suspension among other items. an MOT valid until June 2027 and receipts documenting all recent work, it's certainly a compelling car - one that we expect will have plenty of admirers at auction.
