Overview
The uninitiated may look at the incredibly rare GT3-R and dismiss it merely as a boy racer version of Bentley's venerable and perennially popular Continental GT. With its sporty graphics, bonnet vents and rear wing it's just a more shouty set up, right? Wrong. Dead wrong. The Bentley Continental GT3-R is a proper bit of kit and one of the most extreme cars the company has ever produced.
Now we all know Bentley is no stranger to motorsport success. Having racked up countless victories in some of the most revered competitions in the world, those Bentley boys sure do know what it takes to win races and the GT3 is absolute proof of that. Alongside the remarkable race car, however, in 2014 an equally impressive road-going version – the GT3-R – was also produced. Powered by the same 4.0-litre, twin-turbo V8 as the racer it churns out a whopping 572bhp, increasing to 592bhp when on overboost, which translates to a sub-four second 0-60mph time and a top speed of 189mph.
It's not just the stellar engine that makes the GT3-R so special though. With a more track-focussed chassis, huge carbon ceramic brakes, a full Akrapovic titanium exhaust system (that sounds incredible), a stiffer suspension set-up and torque vectoring, Bentley's intentions were clear from the start. The rear seats were ditched in order to save weight, too and lightweight forged alloy wheels alongside a bunch of carbon fibre bits also helped lower the car's overall bulk. Far from a harsh stripped out racer though, there are still plenty of creature comforts inside the car, including air conditioning, that make it possible to live with day-to-day, despite it being a brutally fast and incredibly capable performance machine.
This particular example, one of just 300 GT3-Rs ever produced worldwide, comes to market in stunning overall condition. With an exceptionally low mileage of just over 4,500, the car has seen limited use and comes complete with excellent Bentley main dealer and marque specialist service history. Clearly meticulously maintained and highly cherished throughout its life, this Continental GT3-R is a superb representation of one of Bentley's most accomplished and unique models.

Summary
An especially scarce and formidable machine, Bentley's race-bred Continental GT3-R remains one of the company's most alluring models. Not only is it an incredibly rare piece of kit, but this particular example has barely been used, all the while keeping up a comprehensive level of servicing and maintenance. A true gem of a car that presents as a rather attractive proposition, whether it be as a unique collector's piece or a beguiling weekend plaything.
