Overview
When Porsche revised the 996 in 2001, it swapped the original 3.4-litre flat-six for a 3.6, lifting power to 320bhp and reworking the nose with headlamps that echo the Turbo. It’s highly sought after and exactly what we have here: a facelift 996 Carrera 2, finished in metallic Meridian Silver over black leather.
What makes this one worth a closer look is its very low mileage. It's covered under 37,000 miles from new, and it shows: the paint holds a deep, even gloss, the clear-lens headlamps are crisp, and the cabin still presents as near-standard with barely a mark on the leather. It's a lovely looking example, and the six-speed manual maximises engagement.
Underneath, the chassis was comprehensively refreshed by a marque specialist in 2022, so it’s very much ready to go. In fine cosmetic fettle and backed by a deep record of care, it's a facelift 3.6 you can enjoy from the moment you turn the key.

HPI clear
Interior
Cabin presents in excellent order, trimmed in black leather
Seats are clean and supple with only very light sheen to the driver's bolster; no tears or splits are visible
Anthracite carpets and sill trim look unworn
Three-spoke wheel wears a crisp full-colour Porsche crest over tight, uncracked leather
Instrument cluster reads clear, with the on-board oil-level check and warning-lamp self-test shown working
Factory Porsche CDR23 head unit, CDC-4 six-disc autochanger and automatic climate control are all present and displaying correctly
The vendor tells us a couple of dash switches have become slightly sticky, a common trait on these cars
Front luggage compartment is clean and undamaged with its spare wheel fitted cover in place
Exterior
Finished in metallic Meridian Silver, the paint carries a deep, even gloss across every panel
Facelift (996.2) clear-lens headlamps are intact and clear, with no yellowing or condensation
Panel gaps and shut lines run straight and even throughout
Silver five-spoke Carrera alloys sit over cross-drilled discs and Porsche-branded calipers
Wheels are largely clean, with only light kerbing on the odd rim and very minor corrosion near the centre caps on around two of them
Michelin tyres are fitted, 225/40 ZR18 front and 285/30 ZR18 rear, with healthy tread all round
Body-coloured mirrors, flush handles and all glass present undamaged and unmarked
Mechanical
Rear-mounted 3.6-litre flat-six produces 320bhp, driving the rear wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox
Performance is quoted at 0-62 mph in 5.0 seconds and a 178mph top speed
A complete suspension refresh at Jasmine PorschaLink in May 2022 fitted Eibach lowering springs all round, a front top-mount and bearing kit, front and rear wishbone arms, a bump-stop and bellow kit, and four-wheel alignment
The vendor tells us a major service and brake-fluid change is booked at Porschemode of Bristol for September 2026
According to the vendor, the car starts readily and drives, shifts and stops cleanly, with a smooth clutch and gearbox
Summary
In short, this is a genuinely well-preserved facelift 996 Carrera 2, the more powerful 3.6 paired with the manual gearbox, presented in near-showroom condition inside and out. At 36,700 miles it’s barely run in, yet the freshly refreshed chassis and continuous servicing mean it's ready to be used and enjoyed straight away. For anyone after an honest, usable 911 that's been genuinely cherished, this is a hard example to better.
