Overview
An early STi wagon on gold Prodrive wheels is an appealing prospect before you open the history file. This one has a particularly interesting name at the beginning of its Japanese ownership record: Subaru Tecnica International. The accompanying registration papers show STI as its first owner between 1995 and 1997, and the vendor reports that it was used as a development car.
It is now privately owned by RacingPete, MD of PistonHeads, and is being offered as a private sale through PH Auctions.
Finished in Light Silver, it combines a turbocharged flat-four, five-speed manual gearbox and four-wheel drive with the extra practicality of the wagon body. The STi roof spoiler, tailgate wing, bonnet scoop and front bucket seats provide the familiar STi details, while the gold OZ Prodrive P1 wheels suit the car well.
There is documented specialist work behind the specification, too. Roger Clark Motorsport fitted and set up the BC Racing coilovers in 2017, following an uprated Exedy clutch, lightweight flywheel and oil-baffle kit in 2016. The car shows 74,723 indicated miles and comes with Japanese paperwork and specialist invoices, with its maintenance history and condition detailed below.
