Description

First registered in 1996, this Volkswagen Golf GTi Mk3 represents the more refined evolution of Volkswagen’s original hot hatch formula, combining everyday usability, understated styling and dependable performance in a practical modern classic package
Finished in factory Dragon Green over a grey cloth interior, the car retains its original colour combination together with its period-correct GTi styling cues, including original trim details and alloy wheels
Powered by Volkswagen’s 2.0-litre 8-valve four-cylinder engine producing approximately 115bhp, paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox, offering smooth, usable performance and relaxed long-distance drivability
Showing just 46,520 miles at the time of cataloguing, this is a notably low-mileage and largely unmodified Mk3 GTi, particularly rare given the number of examples altered or lost over time
The car is understood to have been owned for approximately 20 years by musician Will Young, adding unusual celebrity provenance to an increasingly scarce and well-preserved example
Reportedly connected to a widely publicised mobile phone driving ban incident during that ownership period, the car benefits from an interesting and well-documented ownership history alongside a good accompanying history file supporting its recorded mileage
Described as well maintained and presented in good, honest condition throughout, the car retains its original character and usability, with an MOT valid until July 2026, representing a rare opportunity to acquire a low-mileage, unspoilt Mk3 GTi with genuine provenance and period appeal.
