The Appeal
The Triumph Stag is one of the quintessential cars of the 70s - effortlessly cool, combining Michelotti's elegant styling with the distinctive burble of its 3.0-litre Rover V8. This 1971 Mk1 example, tastefully fitted with Mk2 styling additions, has benefited from extensive mechanical work and comes to market as a well-sorted, usable classic that's ready and waiting for its lucky new keeper.
Purchased earlier this year by two brothers specifically for a 1,200-mile road trip across the UK, the car completed the four-day journey faultlessly during the summer heatwave - even in 35°C heat, the engine temperature reportedly never rose above normal. At a Cornwall Triumph Owners meeting along the way, the car drew compliments from experienced Stag owners and a concours judge alike.
Prior to the current ownership, the car received a thorough mechanical overhaul including an uprated cooling system. Accompanied by an extensive history file, this Stag is a fine example that ticks all of the boxes.
