Overview
Porsche's 987 Boxster arrived in late 2004 with a Carrera GT-inspired nose, bigger wheel arches and a cabin that edged closer to 997 911 quality. In 3.2-litre S form it packed 280bhp and 236lb ft, good for 0-62mph in 5.5 seconds and plenty to make a favourite B-road feel short. The 987 also brought a wider track, larger wheels and tyres, plus variable ratio steering to round off the package.
The real magic is the layout, the naturally aspirated flat-six sitting just behind your shoulders for that famous mid-engined balance. The front and rear boots add everyday usability too, so a weekend away doesn't need a support vehicle. A manual 3.2 S makes a great choice, and it's easy to see why.
Which brings us to this one, a Silver 2006 Boxster S with a black fabric hood, black leather and that six-speed manual doing the honours. It's covered just 37,301 miles in 20 years, fewer than 1,900 a year, and the vendor tells us it's original throughout. Its service book carries nine stamps, the latest from October 2024.
Low miles, the right gearbox and the original kit that makes a 987 S feel special make for a tempting mix. Fancy a properly low-mileage 3.2 S that's ready to have some miles put on it? With crisp Silver paint, a level stance and a cabin that's tidy overall, this is a sharp, well-specified example that looks every bit the part.
