Description

A beautifully balanced Porsche with timeless appeal, the 987 brings unmistakable character in one hugely engaging package. Showing well in a smart finish of 'Midnight Blue Metallic', the coverage is even across the car with no noted imperfections to colour. In the light, the metallic shine of the finish displayed beautifully. We didn't note any real concerns with the paint apart from some minor stone chips across the front of the car. Overall, the car presented exceptionally well, with its low mileage clearly reflected in the condition and presentation throughout. The rear lower quarters are also protected by paint protection film, helping to preserve the finish. Images are taken from a few different angles to show off the car as you would see it if you were standing there yourself. Please take the time to fully assess these high-resolution images and videos of the car to form your own opinion about the condition of the paint. The bodywork of the 987 showed in lovely overall condition. Looking over the exterior, the panel lines looking straight and well-aligned and no major dings were spotted when looking around the car. The bonnet, boot and roof sections all opened and closed well, exactly as you would expect from Porsche build quality. There is a slight scuff to the underside where the car sits a little lower, but overall, nothing overly concerning and an area that is away from general view. We’ve highlighted our observations in more detail through our high-resolution images and videos, so please take time to look through all the media files for a detailed view of what’s on offer and to assess the condition of the car for yourselves. The dashboard looks to be free from any splits and cracks and showed well on our visit. The white numbered clocks and dials showed nicely with ~26,499 miles shown at the time of our visit. The display on these sections showed a lovely level of presentation and are all functional showing clearly with no obvious scratching to the facings. Our interior gallery section takes you over some closer images of the Porsche dashboard, head over and see the car's interior in finer detail. The 987 offers some incredible levels of performance with enough power for any situation, while offering everyday usability that makes it just as capable on a winding back road as it is on a cross-country journey. The current owner, Stewart, tells us more about his experience with the Boxster, "What makes this car truly special is the way it drives. The control, the balance, the response - it’s pure Porsche. Whether on a winding road or a long stretch of motorway, it’s always a thrill and never fails to put a smile on your face." Overall the glass and trim on the Porsche showed very well with no major cause for concern. The optional extra top-tinted windscreen, side windows, rear screen and headlights all show really well, with no significant scratching or marks. The seals look good around the outside and in line with the rest of the condition of the car. Badges and emblems are present and look very smart. We've taken you around the car in greater detail in our exterior review video, please take the time to look over the video and see how the glass and trim look from different perspectives. The car is fitted with 18" 5-spoke alloy wheels with Porsche centre emblems. All appeared to be in lovely condition, with barely a mark noted to the finish. The front of the 987 is fitted with Continental tyres and a spec of 235/40 dated from 2018. To the rear, the car was again fitted with Continental's, showing a spec of 265/40 and coded from 2017. Please take time to review the photos and videos for a detailed view of the exterior, wheels, and tyres so you can make your own assessment of their condition. Tyres are a key safety item, and you should consider replacing any that are cracked, perished, unevenly worn, or over 10 years old. Both front seats are heated and are finished in Ocean Blue with partial leather. These show in excellent condition with barely a mark noted on them. Behind the seats in the small rear section, shows very little signs of use, again showing well. Carpets showed in great condition through the interior. Equally in the boot space, these areas showed no concerns. We've captured high-resolution photos and a full interior video tour through the car. This covers off the angles inside the car for you to review and appreciate the condition of what's on offer here in our interior review section. Starting up from cold, we noted no concerns at all. The car idled smoothly and its engine was easily capable of taking the driver up to speed in no time at all. The 5-speed manual gearbox changes smoothly with no issues, and the 987 pulls strongly through the range. We took the car out around some local roads with the current owner to get a better feel for what this vehicle is all about. On the drive, we ran through the motions and got an overview from Stewart's perspective on how the car performs. Take a look over the review video for yourselves to hear the Porsche start up from cold and take in the lovely sounds of the engine. During our time with the car we noticed no electrical faults. All dashboard lights turned off when out on the road as expected, and all dials and gauges were functioning without issue. The Boxster benefits from a well placed spec, including a Metropole Blue hood, partial leather interior with heated front seats, Boxster alloy wheels with coloured wheel centres and stainless-steel tailpipes. Further equipment includes rear parking assist, a wind deflector, automatic air conditioning, top-tinted windscreen, radio, leather-wrapped steering wheel and 2 sets of keys. Stewart let us know that everything was working correctly, to the best of his knowledge. The Porsche has been well maintained through its ~20 years with its current owner. With low mileage, original service booklets and 8 Porsche service stamps, this Boxster is well worth a closer look. Equipped with an excellent range of optional extras, this Porsche benefits from a Metropole Blue hood, partial leather seats, Boxster alloy wheels with coloured wheel centres, rear parking assist and a wind deflector. Further features include automatic air conditioning, heated front seats, a top-tinted windscreen, radio, leather-wrapped steering wheel and stainless-steel tailpipes. We’ve done all our usual seller checks including photo ID, V5 and also actioned a history check on the vehicle - this is a professional check operated by HPI that will highlight if the car has been previously stolen, recorded as being in an accident, or have any outstanding finance - note, this does not include a mileage history check. We've summarised our own view on the car based on information gained from the seller in the listing above, however, and as you can see, we go to great lengths to photograph and video the car in hi-resolution detail - this has been done for you to make your own assessment from the comfort of your sofa. So please sit back, have a cuppa and take your time to review everything on this listing in order to make your own assessment on the vehicle's condition. Viewings are also welcomed with all our listings, so please get in touch with us to arrange a suitable time - we just need to speak to you first and receive a valid photo ID before confirming. If there's anything you're unsure about, no matter how small, then please first ask the owner in the comments area below before placing your bid/s, as bids can't be retracted and form a binding contract if you win the car - just like a traditional auction house. We noted no knocks, bangs or issues from the suspension when we were on the road in the car, and gave us no concerns in its performance or handling. With drilled discs on each side, they felt great and had no pull or vibrations that stood out to us when on the journey and brought the car easily to a stop. Overall the car performed as to be expected with no observed issues. Please take a look over the mechanical videos and photographs to see close-up images from under the car. A classic Porsche 3-spoke steering wheel finished in matching leather with silver accents, puts the driver firmly in control. This is in great condition and has maintained its looks as well as the rest of the interior. The gear stick also shows the same levels of quality, both sections are straight forward in design and present smartly with only minor levels of use noted. We've captured high-resolution photos for you to review and check over the condition of the interior in our gallery section.
