The Appeal

The Austin A30 is, put simply, a lovely little car. Round proportions, a cheerful character and simple hardware made this compact saloon an eminently drivable city car for post-war Britain, and is celebrated today for the familiar A-Series under the bonnet, which offers plenty of tuning and upgrade potential. Semaphore trafficators and a double-declutch gearchange keep it gleefully period.

This particular example, affectionately named "Edith" by its vendor, has been in the same careful ownership since February 2012 - over 14 years. The bodywork is believed to have been resprayed prior to the vendor's ownership and has settled into a charming patina. Accompanying the car are the original purchase invoice and the Austin owner's manual - a charming period booklet complete with information and diagrams.
