KEY FACTS

  • This Aston Martin V8 Volante is a handsome and increasingly sought-after hand-built luxury open-top grand tourer, combining traditional Aston Martin craftsmanship with effortless V8 performance.
  • It is powered by a naturally aspirated 5.3-litre V8, delivering power to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission.
  • Supplied new in France, the car was reportedly converted from left-hand drive to right-hand drive by Aston Martin within the first six months of its life.
  • It has since been imported to the UK, and the seller acquired the car in May 2025.
  • The odometer indicates 23,910 miles, though this is not warranted.

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

  • The V8 Volante was Aston Martin's flagship open-top grand tourer during the late 1980s, offering muscular V8 performance, traditional coachbuilt construction and timeless styling.
  • This V8 Volante is finished in the iconic shade of British Racing Green with a green soft-top roof, over a tan leather-trimmed interior, featuring a black upper dashboard, green carpets with tan leather edging, and chrome and wood veneer trim.
  • It rides on a set of 15-inch BBS cross-spoke alloy wheels fitted with Avon Turbosteel 70 tyres.
  • Equipment includes air conditioning, twin front driving lights, a two-spoke steering wheel, an electrically operated convertible roof, a Blaupunkt Toronto cassette stereo, electric windows, an analogue clock, Tudor gauges, and heater and ventilation controls.
  • This example has been fitted with Pioneer door card speakers.
  • It will be supplied with the owner's handbook, service booklet, car record card, V5C registration document, a collection of previous MOT certificates, several dated invoices, a spare wheel, and two ignition keys.

CONDITION

  • Please refer to the photo gallery to assess the exterior and interior condition.
  • The seller states that the electric convertible roof mechanism is temperamental.
  • The car’s last MOT test was conducted on 15 April 2026 at an indicated 23,799 miles, resulting in a first-time pass with an advisory to monitor a coolant leak.

SERVICE HISTORY

  • This V8 Volante’s most recent maintenance was carried out in July 2026 at an indicated 23,910 miles by Steve Cato Restoration Ltd, which consisted of the brake fluid being renewed, new offside and nearside engine mounts, the oil filters being changed, a new fuel filter, the engine oil being changed, all the fluid levels being checked and topped up as needed, a new nearside front suspension bush being fitted, and a new bonnet strut being fitted.
  • The previous recorded service was completed in August 2022 by Steve Cato Restoration Ltd, which included an engine oil and filter change, the radiator being re-cored, new fuel and air filters, replacement spark plugs, new cam cover seals, replacement exhaust manifold and downpipe gaskets, a replacement vacuum pipe, and replacement coolant hoses.
  • The seller states that the sale also includes a letter from respected Aston Martin specialist Maurice Warner detailing work performed.

SUMMARY

This Aston Martin V8 Volante is a highly desirable example of the marque's charismatic hand-built open-top grand tourer, presented in one of its most timeless colour combinations. Benefiting from an Aston Martin factory right-hand-drive conversion carried out early in its life, and recent specialist servicing, it represents an appealing opportunity for enthusiasts seeking a well-preserved example of one of Newport Pagnell's most iconic convertibles. It would make a rewarding addition to any collection of significant British classics, equally suited to relaxed touring, concours events and weekend enjoyment.
