The Appeal

The John Cooper Works R53 remains one of the most desirable hot hatches of its era. With a supercharged 1,600cc engine producing 200hp and a six-speed manual gearbox, the JCW package elevated the already spirited Cooper S into a genuinely rapid machine - one that continues to attract a devoted following.

This 2005 example has passed through just two former registered keepers and has clearly been kept very carefully by them, with only gentle signs of wear that defy the car's twenty years. Spirited, fast on its feet and accompanied by an MOT valid until March 2027, it's a very compelling modern classic that's well worthy of attention.
