The Appeal
The Defender 110 Puma was reliably familiar while being a thoroughly modernised example of the legendary off-roader. These boxy 4x4s offered the Defender's signature ruggedness while benefiting from a more modern drivetrain. Ex-MOD examples are particularly sought after, and this seven-seater served with the RAF before entering civilian hands in 2016.
Following MOT advisories on chassis corrosion in 2025, two independent inspections concluded that repair was not viable, prompting a full galvanised chassis replacement carried out by CSG Autos of Macclesfield, a recognised Land Rover specialist. The work, costing in excess of £15,000, also encompassed new brake discs, callipers, suspension, handbrake components, and bushes. Bulkhead corrosion was addressed at the same time, with affected panels cut out and replaced. The new chassis carries a lifetime guarantee.
Beyond the mechanical renewal, this Defender has been thoughtfully equipped for touring and overlanding. It is sold alongside a converted MOD NATO Penman Trailer in matching Keswick green, complete with a QUEST two-person roof tent, dual battery system, fridge, gas connections for cooking, and comprehensive storage. The Defender itself features LED lighting throughout, a JVC multimedia system, a full-length Terrafirma roof rack, and numerous practical upgrades. Having been in the same hands for approximately a decade, annually serviced, and — according to the vendor — never taken off-road, it presents a well-sorted package for anyone seeking a Defender ready for adventure.
