Description

A true JDM icon, the R32 GT-R delivers timeless styling, turbocharged power, and all-wheel-drive capability.

Paint

Showing well in a smart grey colour, the coverage of which is even across the car with no noted colour/hue imperfections.

The car hasn’t had any major work completed to the body through the current owner's time, although the offside wing and door were painted after a minor incident in the workshop at home. We didn't note any other real concerns with the paint, just some minor areas to be aware of.

There were a few stone chips noted across the front of the car and the bumper section and a couple of scratch marks, touched in with paint, to the passenger side rear wing. A minor mark was noted on the passenger side of the roof. Overall though, the car presented really nicely.

Images are taken from a few different angles to show off the car as you would see it if you were standing there yourself. Please take the time to fully assess these high-resolution images and videos of the car to form your own opinion about the condition of the paint.

Bodywork

The bodywork of the GT-R showed in lovely overall condition. Looking over the exterior, the panel lines looking straight and well-aligned and no major dings were spotted when looking around the car.

The bonnet, boot and door sections all opened and closed well. The car’s sporty profile and rear spoiler looked particularly smart when visiting the Skyline.

We’ve highlighted our observations in more detail through our high-resolution images and videos, so please take time to look through all the media files for a detailed view of what’s on offer and to assess the condition of the car for yourselves.

Dashboard

The dashboard looks to be free from any splits and cracks and showed well on our visit. The clocks and dials showed nicely with ~131,081 kilometres indicated at the time of our visit.

Mines gauges are shown in the centre console adding to the sporty, race-ready feel of the Skyline.

The displays in these areas were all functional. There were no major signs of scratching to the facings, just some minor marks.

Our interior gallery section takes you over some closer images of the Nissan's dashboard: head over and see the car's interior in finer detail.

The drive

The Skyline drives beautifully, feeling extremely sure-footed and delivered ~406bhp at the flywheel when first tested by its current owner.

The original HICAS (High Capacity Actively Controlled Steering) rear steering is fitted. The current owner mentions he's had an intermittent fault with this through his ownership, although lets us know, "this hasn’t caused me any issues whilst driving".

Overall, the car feels composed and very confident on the road, a great, inspiring drive out in the GT-R.

Glass and trim

The glass and trim on the Nissan showed very well with no major cause for concern. The windscreen, side windows, rear glass and headlights all show well, with no significant scratching or marks.

The seals look good around the outside and in line with the rest of the condition of the car.

Badges and emblems are present and look great.

Door cards and trim showed with no issues. The headlining to the interior again showed well, just a minor mark to the drivers side.

We've taken you around the car in greater detail in our exterior review video, please take the time to look over the video and see how the glass and trim look from different perspectives.

Wheels and tyres

The car is fitted with 17" R32 V-Spec alloy wheels, all appeared to be in lovely condition, with barely a mark noted to the finish.

The front and rear of the Skyline is fitted with Michelin tyres and a spec of 245/45 dated from 2016.

Please take time to review the photos and videos for a detailed view of the exterior, wheels, and tyres so you can make your own assessment of their condition. Tyres are a key safety item, and you should consider replacing any that are cracked, perished, unevenly worn, or over 10 years old.

Seats and carpets

The grey fabric seats present very well and retain their shape nicely, making for a comfortable, inviting place to take on the road ahead.

We noted a small hole on the driver’s seat to the bolster, but this does little to detract from the overall presentation. Behind the seats in the rear section, there are very few signs of use, again showing well.

The carpeting throughout the cabin all appears to have been well looked after, and equally there are no concerns in the boot space. The GT-R logo to the rear carpet was a lovely highlight.

We've captured high-resolution photos and a full interior video tour through the car. This covers off the angles inside the car for you to review and appreciate the condition of what's on offer here in our interior review section.

Engine and gearbox

Following an intermittent misfire in August, Dynatune in East Kilbride carried out a minor Mass Air Flow Sensor repair, after which the car produced ~361whp on a hub dyno. It is now running as it should and delivering the performance expected.

Starting up from cold, we noted no concerns at all with a nice smooth idle achieved immediately.

The manual gearbox changes smoothly with no issues, and the R32 pulls strongly through the range. We took the car out around some local roads with the current owner to get a better feel for what this vehicle is all about.

On the drive, we ran through the motions and got an overview from Alan's perspective on how the car performs. Take a look over the review video for yourselves to hear the Nissan start up from cold and take in the lovely sounds of the engine.

Electrics and other

During our time with the car we noticed no electrical faults. All dashboard lights turned off when out on the road as expected, and all dials and gauges were functioning without issue.

The Skyline features upgraded Mines gauges in the centre console, a Pioneer stereo with phone connection, and a Sony CD changer unit (though please note this CD changer doesn't work). Air con is fitted and has recently been re-gassed.

The car is complete with a Nissan car cover, a back up space saver wheel in the boot, and 2 sets of keys.

Alan advised that, to the best of his knowledge, all interior features and controls were functioning correctly, with the exception of the driver's digital clock and CD changer mentioned above.

History and paperwork

As a self-confessed purist when it comes to cars, Alan took his time finding a Skyline GT-R that remained as close to standard as possible. The car has never undergone any major work during his ownership, although the offside wing and door were repainted after an unfortunate incident involving a dropped step ladder at home.

The Skyline has been sympathetically upgraded with a Mines ECU, new HKS turbochargers and an Apexi induction kit, while Alan has previously carried out the maintenance himself and uses genuine Nissan parts wherever possible.

More recently, the timing belt, water pump, spark plugs, and pulleys were replaced in April, ahead of the car being put back on the road for the summer. The transmission and differential oils were also changed this year, ensuring the car is well maintained and ready to be enjoyed. Alan runs the Skyline from April through to September, before storing it securely in his workshop over the winter months.

We’ve done all our usual seller checks including photo ID, V5 and also actioned a history check on the vehicle - this is a professional check operated by HPI that will highlight if the car has been previously stolen, recorded as being in an accident, or have any outstanding finance - note, this does not include a mileage history check.

We've summarised our own view on the car based on information gained from the seller in the listing above, however, and as you can see, we go to great lengths to photograph and video the car in hi-resolution detail - this has been done for you to make your own assessment from the comfort of your sofa. So please sit back, have a cuppa and take your time to review everything on this listing in order to make your own assessment on the vehicle's condition. Viewings are also welcomed with all our listings, so please get in touch with us to arrange a suitable time - we just need to speak to you first and receive a valid photo ID before confirming.

If there's anything you're unsure about, no matter how small, then please first ask the owner in the comments area below before placing your bid/s, as bids can't be retracted and form a binding contract if you win the car - just like a traditional auction house.

Suspension and brakes

We noted no knocks, bangs or issues from the Nismo S-Tune suspension when we were on the road in the car, and it gave us no concerns over its performance or handling.

The underside, which we were able to review with the car up on the owner's garage ramp, showed really well and has been liberally treated with Lanoguard for additional protection.

The brakes felt great and offered no pull or vibrations that stood out to us. They brought the car easily to a stop.

Overall the car performed as to be expected with no observed issues.

Please take a look over the mechanical videos and photographs to see close-up images from under the car.

Steering wheel gear stick

A 3-spoke steering wheel finished in black leather, sits at the hands of the driver. This is in great condition and has maintained its looks as well as the rest of the interior.

The Nismo Gear Knob also shows the same levels of quality; both sections are straight forward in design and present smartly with only minor levels of use noted.

We've captured high-resolution photos for you to review and check over the condition of the interior in our gallery section.
