Specification

Introduced in 1980 as the successor to the Silver Shadow, the Silver Spirit and its long-wheelbase counterpart, the Silver Spur marked a new generation for Rolls-Royce and today remains an appealing entry point into the marque’s modern classics
Built on the SZ platform with revised suspension and improved ride and handling over its predecessor
The styling too came in for some revision, with a lower waistline, increased glass area and a more modern angular look; rectangular headlights graced the front of a Rolls-Royce for the first time, and the oft-changed radiator became wider and squatter
Powered by the 6.75-litre L410 V8 paired with the GM-sourced THM 3-speed automatic gearbox for smooth and unhurried progress
First registered in 1987 and supplied by Jack Barclay, this example has been in family ownership since 2013 and has covered just 2,000 miles during that period, now showing less than 66,000
Finished in Arran White with a black hide interior and matching carpeting. Equipment includes electrically adjustable front seats with four-position memory, air conditioning, cruise control, and a Blaupunkt stereo
Supplied with its original handbooks, previous MOTs and invoices, along with its current MOT valid until February 2027
A fine addition to a wider assembly of British classics as well as a comfortable and effortlessly stylish companion for trips to car shows, weekend cruises and the occasional family wedding
