The Appeal

The W219 is a car that commands respect among AMG aficionados. Powered by the hand-built 6.2-litre M156 naturally aspirated V8 - the last of its kind before AMG's shift to forced induction - it's visceral, sporty and rugged - and still offers performance that the car's turbocharged successors struggle to replicate.

This particular example began life as a Mercedes-Benz demonstrator and was thus specified to a very high level. Its subsequent custodians have included a Mercedes master technician and a collector in West Yorkshire who covered fewer than 3,500 miles during his tenure. A full folder of receipts documents expenditure on items including engine mounts, a gearbox service and brakes.
