Description

KEY FACTS

  • A pioneering and highly significant all-electric performance roadster, this Tesla Roadster 2.5 Sport is a rare right-hand-drive example.
  • It is believed to be one of only around 300 or fewer RHD examples produced, and is confirmed as the final example produced at the Lotus Hethel factory, having subsequently been driven by Richard Bremner for Autocar magazine.
  • It is powered by a three-phase, four-pole induction electric motor, producing around 299bhp and 295lb-ft of torque, coupled with the single-speed BorgWarner fixed gear transmission.
  • An ex-demonstrator car, this Roadster was first registered to Tesla in February in 2012, and was registered in its current and first private owner’s name in September 2012.
  • This example is reported to benefit from the factory Roadster 3.0 battery upgrade programme carried out in 2024, equipping it with a zero-mileage battery pack and associated system updates. The seller states that the battery is covered by the balance of a two-year/25,000 miles warranty until September 2026.
  • The odometer is understood to indicate approximately 8,620 miles, which the seller believes to be the genuine total.

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

  • This Roadster 2.5 Sport is finished in Obsidian Black with a matching body-coloured hard top, over an Executive cream and black leather-trimmed interior, featuring embroidered Tesla logos on the seat backs, and exposed aluminium and clear-coat carbon-fibre trim.
  • It rides on a set of staggered 16-inch front and 17-inch rear seven-spoke forged aluminium alloy wheels finished in gloss-black and fitted with Yokohama Advan Neova tyres.
  • Equipment includes xenon headlights, a reversing camera, adjustable suspension, a tyre pressure monitoring system, a Cobra NavTrak security system, a Momo steering wheel, electric windows, heated seats, air conditioning, and a touchscreen Alpine double-DIN media system with satellite navigation and Bluetooth connectivity.
  • The car will be supplied with its original handbooks, the V5C, a certificate of conformity, and two remote keys.

CONDITION

  • Please refer to the photo gallery to assess the exterior and interior condition.
  • The car’s last MOT test was conducted on 30 April 2026 at an indicated 8,617 miles, resulting in a clean, first-time pass.

  • The seller states that the most recent maintenance was carried out in August 2024 at an indicated 8,503 miles by Tesla Service Centre, Crawley, which included the Roadster 3.0 battery upgrade programme with a zero-mileage pack being installed, a GPS receiver update, a 12V battery replacement, a PEM fan replacement, a condenser fan and air conditioning pipe replacement, a bonnet cable replacement, and a track rod end replacement.
  • The seller states that a previous recorded service was in September 2017 at an indicated 7,744 miles at Tesla Service Centre, Crawley, comprising a full annual inspection, a high-voltage battery health check, a firmware update, wiper blade replacement, and diagnostics.
  • The seller states that an earlier service was carried out in April 2013 at an indicated 3,206 miles by Tesla Motors, Maidenhead, including a range service visit and rear tyre replacement.
