Description
KEY FACTS
- A focused and highly regarded lightweight performance coupe, this Porsche 968 Sport is a rare UK-market example combining engaging balance with analogue driving appeal.
- It is powered by a naturally aspirated 3.0-litre inline-four ‘Variocam’ engine producing around 240bhp, driving the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission.
- First registered in August 1994, this example was with its most recent keeper for more than 20 years, and is being offered following a bereavement.
- The odometer indicates 116,739 miles, which the seller believes to be genuine.
EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES
- All 968 Sports started life as stripped-out ‘Club Sport’ models on the Zuffenhausen production line (denoted by the ‘968 411’ model code for RHD cars). Each of the 306 UK-market examples that Porsche Cars GB ordered were effectively Club Sport models which had ‘Luxury Pack’ items added back in, including an electric tailgate release, electric windows, comfort seats, and rear seats.
- This example is finished in the iconic shade of Guards Red over a black leatherette and cloth-trimmed interior.
- It rides on a set of 17-inch ‘Cup 2’ alloy wheels, framing red Porsche-branded brake callipers, and fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres.
- Equipment includes pop-up headlights, a green top-tinted windscreen, a black leather-trimmed steering wheel, heater and ventilation controls, a digital clock, an electric sunroof, and electrically operated windows and door mirrors.
- This example has been fitted with a Pioneer stereo with Bluetooth connectivity.
- The car is supplied with two keys, the original document pack, the V5C, a Certificate of Authenticity from Porsche, a partially stamped service booklet, and a history file of receipts.
CONDITION
- Please refer to the photo gallery to assess the exterior and interior condition.
- Specific notes from the seller include: discolouration to the door handles, door mirrors, and rear spoiler, and areas of lacquer peeling on the sunroof panel.
- The interior door cards are reported to require refitting at the upper edges.
- The car’s last MOT test was conducted on 7 April 2026 at an indicated 116,736 miles, which resulted in a first-time pass with an advisory for slight play in the nearside rear wheel bearing.
SERVICE HISTORY
- This 968 Sport’s most recent recorded service was carried out in April 2005 at 96,157 miles by Camtune Limited, Godalming, comprising an engine oil and filter change.
- Prior to this, the car received a belt tension renewal in 2004 at 83,354 miles, also by Camtune Limited.
- In August 2004, at 83,354 miles, it underwent a routine engine oil and filter service.
- The seller reports ongoing maintenance since 2006, with supporting receipts for parts and work carried out, including a timing belt replacement in September 2017 at approximately 113,000 miles.

SUMMARY
This Porsche 968 Sport is a lesser-seen modern classic, known for its precise handling, near-perfect weight distribution, and engaging naturally aspirated engine. Finished in the iconic Guards Red and offered from previous long-term ownership, it offers an appealing blend of rarity and usability, and would make a rewarding addition to any collection, equally suited to spirited road driving or preservation as an appreciating analogue-era Porsche.
