The Appeal

The Jensen Healey was born of a collaboration between Jensen Motors, Kjell Qvale, and Donald Healey, with its beating heart supplied by Lotus in the form of the 907 twin-cam four-cylinder engine. The Mk2 refined the formula with detail improvements, and with only around 240 examples believed to remain on the road, these are genuinely rare and increasingly appreciated classic sports cars.

This 1974 Mk2 example has benefited from a series of considered mechanical improvements, including a stainless steel exhaust, refurbished steering rack from Martin Roby, four new adjustable dampers, and refreshed front braking components. The body, resprayed in 'Jensen Red' during a late-1980s restoration carried out as an apprentice project by the previous owner, is described as generally sound, though some cosmetic attention is needed at the A pillars, rear quarters, and driver's door trailing edge. The aftermarket cream leather interior and burgundy carpet lend the cabin a distinctive character.
Described by the vendor as a comfortable Grand Tourer that performs best on longer drives, this Jensen Healey presents an appealing opportunity to acquire a rare and hitherto undervalued British classic.
