The Appeal
The Morris Minor Traveller is one of the most endearing estate cars of its era. Its unusual combination of everyday practicality and hand-crafted ash woodwork has earned it a devoted following, and good examples are increasingly sought after. This 1971-registered Traveller wears the rare original colour of Aqua Blue - a finish that still draws admiring comments wherever it is parked.
Over its venerable years, this car was part of a museum collection and was subsequently prepared for sale by the Bristol-based Morris Minor specialist Charles Ware. The all-important woodwork has been finished with yacht varnish and appears in very good condition, while the body has benefited from a full underseal.
Beneath its largely standard appearance, the car has a number of sensible upgrades to improve reliability and drivability, including an alternator, electronic ignition, uprated suspension, and front disc brakes. The vendor reports that it always starts on the first turn of the key and that it can be driven with confidence thanks to the brake and suspension work.
