KEY FACTS
- This is a highly bespoke David Brown Speedback GT.
- Power comes from the twin-scroll supercharged Jaguar 5.0L AJ-V8 engine, which sends 503bhp to the rear wheels through a ZF six-speed semi-automatic transmission with paddle shift, for a 0-62mph sprint time of just 4.8 seconds, and an electronically limited top speed of 155mph.
- It is understood to be one of fewer than 100 examples built.
- Registered as a 2015 car due to its underpinnings, but this Speedback GT was built in 2016.
EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES
- The Speedback GT was first revealed as a concept at the 2014 ‘Top Marques’ event in Monaco. The first production car was delivered in 2015 and the model has been continued to be produced in very limited numbers in Silverstone, UK.
- Designed by former Jaguar Land Rover designer, Alan Mobberley, the Speedback GT is influenced by the styling of iconic 1960s sports cars, using traditional craftsmanship combined with modern engineering and performance and fitted with everyday technology.
- The bespoke, hand-rolled and hand-beaten aluminium body panels are finished in Ruby Tuesday, over a Garrett leather-trimmed interior featuring Espresso, Hollow and Mink colours, including Nubuck seat inserts and elegant lacquered Tamo Ash wood trim over the dashboard and door cards and a Walnut Burr steering wheel, finished also with a gloss lacquer. The headlining is trimmed in Obsidian Alcantara.
- It was specified with the optional 2+2 seating format, and it also has an additional folding picnic or event seating in the boot. The entire loadspace is trimmed with Espresso leather.
- The car rides on 19-inch Union Flag-inspired David Brown Automotive alloy wheels, shod with Dunlop SP Sport tyres.
- Equipment includes electrically-adjustable and heated seats with three-position memory, dual climate control, satellite navigation, cruise control, electric windows, soft-close doors and tailgate, and upgraded Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
- Accompanying the vehicle will be the original owner’s manuals, service book, tyre inflation kit, towing eye and warning triangle, along with an exclusive David Brown torch and picnic set, including a bespoke picnic blanket and two flasks.
