Description

  • Designed in part by renowned American car designer and racer Carroll Shelby, in an attempt to raise the declining fortunes of the Rootes Group, the Tiger was penned around the popular Sunbeam Alpine bodyshell with V8 motivation in an attempt to compete successfully in world markets where larger capacity engines and sportscar styling were at the forefront of late 1960s motoring
  • Dating from 1965, this Mark I 260 is powered by Ford's 4,261cc (260ci) Windsor unit through a 4-speed gearbox driving the rear wheels
  • It presents really well in Calypso Red with a black vinyl interior and now sits on Minilite alloy wheels which suit its period competition-inspired look
  • Imported into the UK in 1997 and used regularly within a private collection since 2021, where it has benefitted from ongoing maintenance and care from the Collection's resident engineer
  • Supplied with a UK V5C registration document and history file relating to its time on British roads
  • A super example of the early 4.2-litre cars, offering distinctive 1960s character and enjoyable open-top motoring. Tigers are becoming increasingly popular and are notoriously tricky to find in good order, making this a great opportunity to own a patently well cared for car
