Description
KEY FACTS
- This 964-generation Porsche 911 Carrera 2 Cabriolet is a stylish and rewarding modern classic open-top sports car, offered with a solid maintenance history and enhanced with a professional Turbo-look wide-body conversion.
- It is powered by a naturally aspirated 3.6-litre flat-six, driving the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission.
- This original UK-market example was first registered in June 1990, and the seller states that it has been within their family for 12 years. It has been owned by both them and their father twice; accounting for several of the registered keepers.
- The odometer shows 164,691 miles from new.
EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES
- Originally built as a narrow-body Carrera 2 Cabriolet, this 964 has been enhanced with a Turbo-look body conversion, using steel rear arches and front wings sourced from Porsche in Germany.
- The front bumper is an original 964 Turbo item; the rear bumper is the only component in fibreglass, and the entire conversion was carried out by Club Autosport in Birmingham.
- This example is finished in a stylish grey hue complemented by a black soft-top roof, over a reupholstered black and red leather-trimmed interior, featuring red seat piping and stitching.
- It rides on a set of 17-inch ‘Cup II’ alloy wheels shod in mixed tyres.
- Equipment includes a green top-tinted windscreen, front sport seats, electric windows, and heater and ventilation controls.
- This example also features a ‘tea tray’ rear spoiler, an aftermarket twin-exit exhaust system, white instrument dials, and an Alpine CD stereo with Bluetooth connectivity.
- The car comes with a warning triangle, a space-saver spare wheel, jump leads, tools, the owner’s manuals with a black leather wallet, a black leather document wallet, the stamped service booklet, the V5C, and a collection of maintenance invoices.
- One original key and one spare are included.
CONDITION
- Please refer to the photo gallery to assess the exterior and interior condition.
- Specific notes from the seller include: the front bumper, front wings and bonnet were repainted in 2025 due to vandalism, and the interior was reupholstered four years ago by Dave the Trimmer. There are some blemishes and a scuff mark on the underside of the front splitter from contact with a curb.
- The seller also notes that the rear boot lid light occasionally illuminates, although the latch functions normally; the boot does not stay open unassisted; and one rear light has a small crack.
- The seats do not function electrically, but they can be adjusted manually.
- The most recent MOT test was on 2 July 2025 at 164,677 miles, which resulted in a first-time pass with no advisories.
SERVICE HISTORY
- The last maintenance was carried out in July 2024 at 164,449 miles by Porsche specialists Autofarm in Bicester. The work included an engine oil service, the engine being cleaned to check and rectify a small leak, and roof latch adjustments.
- Prior to this, an engine oil service was carried out by Auto Specialist Services in March 2022 at 164,404 miles.
- In February 2020 and March 2017, the car was serviced by Deutsch Tech, a Porsche specialist, at 164,025 and 162,408 miles respectively, including spark plug replacement and full servicing.
