Overview
There's just something about the purity, feedback and sheer drive-ability of the Exige that gets under the skin – there’s nothing quite like it – and that's exactly how the current owner of this particularly rare Lotus Exige S LF1 felt. Being a Formula One fan, too, it made perfect sense to pick up one of these rare, limited edition models. With only 81 examples ever produced, each individually numbered to commemorate the 81 Lotus F1 victories over the years, it's an incredibly exclusive club and seeing as the LF1 is based on the Exige S you still get the devastatingly fast 345bhp, 3.5-litre supercharged V6 engine, not to mention Race and Premium packs as standard for an optimised setup.
Having spent countless hours with Lotus specialists, auction houses and online platforms waiting for a low-mileage example with the right history and, importantly, all of the original LF1 collectables and memorabilia included, the vendor acquired this car, number 19 of 81, in 2025, a model that celebrates Jim Clark's win in the 1965 South African Grand Prix. During their ownership the LF1 has been entrusted to the specialist team at Lotus Woodcote & Copse, who have serviced and maintained the car, ensuring it continues to look and perform at its very best.
Due to lack of use the car is now reluctantly up for sale with the vendor informing us that they want a Lotus they can jump into whenever the opportunity arises rather than a bona fide piece of Lotus heritage so special that it should arguably be preserved. With full main dealer service history, along with the complete LF1 package, this exceptional Lotus Exige makes for a truly exciting and wonderfully collectible car.
