Description

Background:

Introduced in 2005, the V8 Vantage represented Aston Martin's entry into the compact high-performance sports car market, combining traditional British craftsmanship with a more focused and contemporary driving experience.

Designed under Henrik Fisker, the Vantage was based around Aston Martin's bonded aluminium VH architecture and clothed in particularly elegant bodywork that has aged remarkably well. Compact proportions, a long bonnet, short rear deck and trademark Aston Martin grille gave the Vantage an immediately recognisable identity.

At its heart was a naturally-aspirated 4.3-litre, quad-cam V8 producing 380bhp, driving the rear wheels through a rear-mounted transaxle. The resulting near 50:50 weight distribution, together with its compact dimensions and aluminium structure, helped give the Vantage a distinctly sporting character.

For many enthusiasts, the six-speed manual versions represent the V8 Vantage in its purest form, combining the naturally aspirated V8 with a conventional three-pedal transmission at a time when increasingly sophisticated automatic and paddle-shift gearboxes were becoming commonplace.

The V8 Vantage would remain an important part of Aston Martin's range for more than a decade, subsequently gaining a larger 4.7-litre engine and numerous developments, but these early 4.3-litre cars retain much of the character of the original design.

The Car:

First registered in January 2007, MX56 DWU is attractively finished in Onyx Black over an Obsidian black leather interior and, at the time of cataloguing, indicated approximately 49,500 miles.

Powered by Aston Martin's naturally aspirated 4.3-litre V8 producing 380bhp, this example is equipped with the desirable six-speed manual gearbox, driving the rear wheels through the model's rear-mounted transaxle.

The black exterior is complemented by silver alloy wheels, whilst a number of later exterior additions include a body kit and carbon rear ducktail spoiler, giving the Vantage a slightly more purposeful appearance whilst retaining the elegant proportions of Henrik Fisker's original design. Inside, the predominantly black cabin features leather upholstery, an Alcantara headlining and steering wheel, together with carbon trim and satellite navigation.

Of particular note is the car's comprehensive documented service history, which records attention from Aston Martin main dealers and respected marque specialists throughout its life.

The recorded service history includes:

  • 28/02/2007 – Aston Martin – Main service
  • 29/01/2008 – Aston Martin – Main service
  • November 2008 – 5,149 miles – Stratstone – Service
  • 10/02/2011 – Aston Martin – Main service. Service record notes February 2011 at 15,190 miles with Stratstone
  • 07/04/2015 – 25,711 miles – Aston Martin Brooklands – Service (£907.06)
  • 02/10/2015 – MSM – Sports catalytic converters (£150)
  • 13/05/2016 – 32,664 miles – Stratstone – Main service (£843.31)
  • 22/05/2016 – Stratstone – Brake work (£459.36)
  • 13/12/2016 – Stratstone – Drive belt (£170)
  • 28/07/2017 – 35,710 miles – Aston Martin Reading – Main service (£772)
  • 19/10/2018 – 37,358 miles – Aston Martin Reading – Oil service (£220.38)
  • 30/01/2019 – 37,715 miles – Aston Martin Reading – Door latch and key transponder (£193.34)
  • 31/10/2019 – 37,806 miles – Aston Martin Reading – Main service (£949.98)
  • April 2021 – 38,515 miles – Aston Martin Hatfield – Service
  • 16/06/2022 – 39,637 miles – Chiltern Aston – Main service and extensive further work including brakes, wishbone, wheel alignment and drop links (£7,519.01)
  • 18/07/2023 – Chiltern Aston – Ignition coils and spark plugs (£2,325.02)
  • April 2024 – Air-conditioning re-gas
  • 10/07/2024 – 47,380 miles – Chiltern Aston – Main service and rear driveshaft (£3,709.19)

The history therefore shows consistent maintenance throughout the car's life, initially with Aston Martin main dealers and latterly with respected marque specialist Chiltern Aston. The most recent MOT was issued on 5th March 2026 at 49,432 miles with no advisories and remains valid until 4th March 2027.

Condition:

Finished in black over a matching black interior, this Vantage presents as a particularly purposeful example, with the silver alloy wheels providing contrast against the dark bodywork and the later exterior additions adding a more sporting appearance. The cabin retains the attractive combination of leather and Alcantara associated with Aston Martin's sporting models of the period, complemented by carbon trim and the distinctive centre console and instrument layout of the early V8 Vantage.

Prospective bidders are encouraged to study the accompanying photographs for a detailed assessment of the exterior, interior, engine bay and overall cosmetic condition.

With approximately 49,500 miles indicated, the desirable six-speed manual gearbox and a particularly comprehensive service history extending from its early years through to recent maintenance by Chiltern Aston, this 2007 V8 Vantage offers an appealing combination of naturally aspirated V8 performance, traditional manual transmission and unmistakable Aston Martin styling.
