Description

KEY FACTS

  • A highly regarded and increasingly collectible limited-run hot hatch, this Ford Racing Puma is a finely tuned, driver-focused performance model developed by Ford’s Special Vehicle Engineering team.
  • It is powered by a naturally aspirated 1.7-litre inline-four engine, driving the front wheels via a five-speed manual transmission.
  • First registered in September 2000, this example has been with the seller for nine years.
  • This Racing Puma is number 368 of only 500 examples produced.
  • The odometer shows 70,849 miles, however this is not warranted.

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

  • The limited-run Ford Racing Puma was built by Tickford on a separate assembly line to the standard Ford Puma, and was designed as a thoroughbred performance car with a wider front and rear track, redesigned bodywork, and a more powerful engine.
  • All 500 examples were finished in Ford Imperial Blue, with a blue Alcantara and black leather and cloth-trimmed interior, Eibach suspension, Alcon four-pot front brakes callipers, a stainless steel exhaust, and featured Sparco seats, as well as 17-inch multi-spoke Speedline alloy wheels.
  • Equipment includes projector headlights, a rear screen wiper, Sparco pedals, an aluminium gear knob and handbrake lever, white dials, a digital clock, a built-in CD stereo, electric windows, and air conditioning.
  • It is accompanied by the original Ford service booklet with 14 stamps, a V5C registration document, numerous invoices including major refurbishment records, past MOT certificates, and two keys.

CONDITION

  • Please refer to the photo gallery to assess the exterior and interior condition.
  • Specific notes from the seller include: the car was resprayed in 2010. There is some road rash to the front of the rear wheel arches, minor bobbling to the Alcantara on the front seats, and the radio is currently inoperative.
  • The car’s last MOT test was conducted on 1 July 2025 at an indicated 70,845 miles, which resulted in a first-time pass with advisories for both front brake discs being worn, pitted or scored.

SERVICE HISTORY

  • This Puma’s most recent maintenance was carried out in May 2025 at an indicated 70,840 miles by Ignite Performance, including a full service with a new timing belt (installed using the correct FRP locking tool), water pump, spark plugs, filters, rocker cover gasket, rear brake service, and handbrake adjustment.
  • The seller states that in May 2024, at an indicated 70,650 miles, the car received an engine oil and filter service.
  • The seller states that in May 2023, at an indicated 70,650 miles, it underwent an engine oil and filter service using Castrol 5W30.
