KEY FACTS

  • This Mitsubishi Pajero Evolution is a rare limited-production homologation special 4x4, which has recently benefited from a recommissioning service with a main dealer.
  • It is powered by a 3.5-litre ‘6G74’ V6 with MIVEC variable valve timing, sending 276bhp to all four wheels through a five-speed automatic transmission.
  • Produced exclusively for the Japanese market, this Pajero Evolution was imported into the UK and first registered with the DVLA in July 2016.
  • The odometer shows 93,404 km, but this is not warranted.

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

  • The Pajero Evolution was produced to homologate the most successful Dakar rally car ever made, which took 12 victories between 1985 and 2007, including an impressive 1-2-3 finish in 1998, rightly earning it the title of ‘King of the Desert’.
  • Around 2,500 road-legal examples of the Pajero Evolution were produced exclusively for the Japanese market, with all examples featuring a steering guard, sculpted Recaro seats, redesigned bodywork with flared wheel arches, a wraparound rear spoiler, a scooped bonnet, redesigned suspension, and front and rear Torsen limited-slip differentials.
  • This example is finished in Satellite Silver, over a black cloth-trimmed interior, with patterned inserts in the Recaro seats, as well as carbon fibre-look inlays.
  • It rides on 16-inch six-spoke alloy wheels, wrapped in Maxxis Razr AT-S tyres. A spare wheel is mounted on the rear end.
  • Equipment includes electric mirrors and automatic climate control.
  • An aftermarket Pioneer stereo, Carrozzeria display, and a DreamMaker digital rear-view mirror have been fitted, though this is not functional.
  • The car will be supplied with its Japanese owner’s manual and service book, the original toolkit, an English-language handbook from New Zealand, the V5, a recent invoice and its current MOT certificate.
  • There is no rear fog light fitted.
  • One key and one remote will be supplied.

CONDITION

  • Please refer to the photo gallery to assess the exterior and interior condition.
  • Specific notes from the seller include: the bonnet air intake scoop is original but the fixing bolts had detached from the plastic underside and have been re-attached; very slight wear on the driver’s seat edges; chassis was clear Waxoyled when purchased.
  • The most recent MOT test was on 30 June 2025 at an indicated 93,370 km, resulting in a first-time pass with no advisories.

SERVICE HISTORY

  • In June 2025 at 93,370 km, Station Garage Mitsubishi replaced the timing belt, auxiliary belts, engine oil, oil filter, front upper ball joints, tyres and coolant.
