Description
Highlights
- Rare factory right-hand-drive example
- Only one former registered keeper
- In current ownership for approximately nine years
- Highly original throughout
The Appeal
Penned by Paul Bracq and hand-built alongside the marque's flagship saloons, the W111 has rightfully gained an impressive presence amongst Mercedes-Benz' illustrious lineage; its pillarless coupe bodywork and frameless windows set it apart and create a distinctly modern, greenhouse cabin that feels plush, airy and welcoming. Factory right-hand-drive examples were produced in very small numbers, making survivors particularly sought after.
This 1965 220SE Coupe is one such car, finished in a handsome dark blue over grey. Carrying only a gentle, amicable patina and plenty of originality, we understand that this handsome coupe has seen only one former keeper and has been regularly looked after, with handsome paint, bright chrome and a crisp, authoritative silhouette fitting of Bacq's penmanship during his golden age.
