The Appeal
Surely every enthusiast has dreamt of picking up a ridiculously rare supercar and restoring it to its former glory?
The Lamborghini Jarama S is one of the marque's most underappreciated grand tourers. Designed by Marcello Gandini at Bertone and powered by a 3,929cc V12 mated to a five-speed manual gearbox, the Jarama S offered a more refined, front-engined alternative to the dramatic Miura and Countach. It was undoubtedly something special - that V12 is a work of art alone, while the smart, retro-futurist styling is low-slung, angular and endlessly timeless.
Ferruccio Lamborghini famously noted that the Jarama was his personal favourite of his road cars. To quote the great man in '91...
"I preferred the Jarama to all the others, because it is the perfect compromise between the Lamborghini Miura and the Espada."
This particular car was purchased by the seller's late father in 1986 as a restoration project - one that was never begun. It has remained in the same family's care ever since, stored in a garage since the mid-1980s. Having not been started for around 40 years, it's certainly no small project - but we think it'll be a remarkably rewarding one.
