Description
- The 1935 Brough Superior 4.2-litre Dual Purpose Coupé was produced in limited numbers during the mid 1930s, based on Hudson running gear and regarded as one of the more distinctive low volume British performance cars of the period
- Coachbuilt by W.C. Atcherley, the patented Dual Purpose body features a three position convertible roof folding close to the door tops, offering open and closed motoring within an elegant pre-war colour scheme and traditional trim
- Powered by the rarer 4.2-litre eight-cylinder engine sourced from Hudson and coupled to a manual gearbox.
- Restored around 1960, however, the well-patinated, Deco-style tan leather interior appears totally original
- Originally owned by Major Michael Wills of Wills Tobacco fame
- Part of a significant private collection and been off the road since 2021 so is a running project and will need recommissioning
- Supplied with some history and photographs of its 1937 accident (see Sellers Rating)
- A extremely rare sight today, the Superior offers period engineering, distinctive coachwork and eligibility for a range of historic motoring events, presenting an appealing opportunity for the enthusiast seeking something a little different
