Description

Background:

Introduced in 2005, the V8 Vantage represented Aston Martin's entry into the compact high-performance sports car market, combining traditional British craftsmanship with a more focused and contemporary driving experience.

Designed under Henrik Fisker, the Vantage was based around Aston Martin's bonded aluminium VH architecture and clothed in particularly elegant bodywork that has aged remarkably well. Compact proportions, a long bonnet, short rear deck and trademark Aston Martin grille gave the Vantage an immediately recognisable identity.

The Roadster joined the range in 2006, retaining the character and performance of the Coupé whilst adding an electrically operated fabric roof and the appeal of open-air motoring.

A significant update arrived for the 2009 model year, most notably with an increase in engine capacity from 4.3 to 4.7 litres. The naturally-aspirated V8 offered greater power and torque, further enhancing the performance and flexibility of the Vantage whilst retaining the distinctive soundtrack that has become such an important part of the model's appeal.

With its combination of addictive V8 power, compact dimensions and understated styling, the V8 Vantage remains one of the most desirable Astons of the modern era.

The Car:

First registered on 30th March 2009, this V8 Vantage Roadster is attractively finished in Obsidian Black with a contrasting Sandstorm Cream leather interior and has been enjoyed by five previous keepers. At the time of cataloguing, the odometer indicated just 28,985 miles.

Powered by Aston Martin's naturally-aspirated 4.7-litre V8, this example is equipped with the paddle-shift transmission and combines strong performance with the additional versatility of its electrically operated folding fabric roof.

Its attractive factory specification includes an Ivory headlining and Piano Black veneers, whilst further equipment includes front and rear parking sensors, Premium Audio System, Bluetooth connectivity and a Tracker.

Externally, the restrained Obsidian Black finish is complemented by a set of attractive multi-spoke alloy wheels, behind which sit contrasting red brake calipers.

The documented service history includes:

  • March 2015 – 15,276 miles – Aston Martin Brentwood
  • June 2016 – 16,285 miles – Aston Martin Brentwood
  • July 2017 – 16,709 miles – Aston Martin Brentwood
  • July 2018 – 17,102 miles – Aston Martin Brentwood
  • July 2019 – 17,297 miles – Aston Martin Brentwood
  • March 2022 – 20,519 miles – McGurk Performance Cars
  • April 2023 – 23,587 miles – The Village Garage
  • August 2024 – 25,622 miles – Fratelli

The April 2023 visit to The Village Garage included an engine oil and filter change together with replacement air and pollen filters and a new battery. The clutch was also reset at this time.

Prior to this, McGurk Performance Cars serviced the Aston Martin in March 2022 at 20,519 miles, whilst the earlier recorded history shows regular attention from Aston Martin Brentwood between 2015 and 2019. Its most recent documented service was completed by Fratelli in August 2024 at 25,622 miles, approximately 3,300 miles ago.

Condition:

The combination of Obsidian Black paintwork and Sandstorm Cream leather is particularly well suited to the understated lines of the Vantage Roadster, with the Ivory headlining and Piano Black veneer adding further contrast within the cabin. The interior combines Aston Martin's traditional use of leather and quality materials with the more sporting character of the Vantage, whilst the electrically operated fabric roof allows the car to be transformed quickly from an enclosed sports car into an open two-seater.

With just 28,985 miles indicated, a desirable factory specification and a documented service history, this 2009 V8 Vantage Roadster offers an appealing combination of naturally aspirated V8 performance, open-top motoring and unmistakable Aston Martin styling.

Offered through our Iconic Online Sale, prospective bidders are encouraged to study the accompanying history file, photographs and condition information and to satisfy themselves as to the car's specification, mileage, condition and service history prior to bidding.
