The Appeal

The AC 12/24 hails from the early days of one of Britain's most storied marques. The company had already been through multiple guises by the 1920s, and had seen plenty of success with their tourers and roadsters; tragically, it never quite managed cash solvency, and by 1927, Selwyn Edge bought the company outright for £135,000 - registering it as AC (Acedes) Ltd.
It was a bad time to stage a buyout - the company suffered through the depression, and despite the superiority of their machines, would cease production in 1929. AC Cars produced a range of sporting and touring models that earned a devoted following, and their pre-war cars are still amongst the most treasured of the era.

This 1929 12/24hp Tourer has been in the Gann family since 1964 and benefits from a documented history of restoration and maintenance over the decades. It was last driven in 2018 for a family wedding, where it reportedly drove well around the farmyard, though it was not taken on the road. Having been barn-stored since, it now comes to us as an impressive candidate for restoration and recommissioning - a truly scarce pre-war classic with plenty of character.
