The Appeal

The Willys Jeep didn’t just help change the direction of the war, it influenced car makers around the world and launched a new type of vehicle. In Russia, it begat the GAZ 69, which from 1953 gave the Soviet military a utilitarian, jeep-infused truck tailor-made for Russia’s vast, harsh terrain.

The ‘UAZ’ GAZ 69A got four doors, canvas roof and more seating space. This 1964 GAZ 69A spent its life overseas before arriving in the UK. The single UK keeper acquired it in 2020. He restored it to the condition you see today.

The work has been both extensive and is impressive. Now finished in military green with Soviet decals, it looks the part and is mechanically sorted too. It has covered few miles since it was completed.

As an alternative to more common military ‘utes’ this high quality GAZ has the rarity and condition to stand out on the road and at shows. A large trailer is included in the sale.
