The Appeal
It is without doubt one of the most elegant and best-driving roadsters ever made. You need deep pockets and the patience of a saint to get your hands on a great example, so why not restore your very own example of this 'Dolce Vita' icon?
As the photographs show, this Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider requires some work; quite a bit, actually. But it offers a compelling opportunity for those looking for a full restoration project.
The vendor tells us:
"The car belonged to my late husband, and so I have few details on its provenance. As far as I'm aware the car once in his possession was kept stored in a storage unit. It has not been touched since it was bought at the time. It was used as a donor car to the other Alfas he had for restoration and the plan was inevitably to either sell as a project car or to restore and take it abroad to drive ourselves as it is a left hand drive."
The History and Paperwork
- Believed to be a 1965 model year car
- Left-hand drive example formerly registered in the USA
- Belonged to the owner's late husband
- Stored in a storage unit while in their husband's possession
- Used as a donor car for other Alfas they owned
- No service history available
- Mileage unknown; odometer not currently fitted
The Condition
- In need of total restoration
- Appears largely complete
- Many of the body panels appear salvageable, subject to the necessary repairs
- One door currently removed but does accompany the car
- Collection of spares also photographed
The Mechanics
- 1.3-litre four-cylinder Nord twin-cam
- Four-speed manual gearbox
- Offered in non-running, untested condition
- While some ancillaries are not currently fitted, it appears the Alfa's mechanicals are mostly complete
