The Appeal
The Citroën 2CV needs little introduction. Born of a need to return to normality after wartime, the 2CV was designed with a unique long-travel suspension system to cushion the impact of post-war infrastructure and carry rural wares to market in tip-top condition. To say it was a success is an understatement - it was on the market for 42 years, with over five million built. Oh yes, André Lefèbvre and Flaminio Bertoni's 'tin snail' is one of the most important, ingenious and characterful cars ever built.
Purchased by the current owner in 2016, this dark blue example has since been comprehensively restored and fitted with a new engine. It holds a valid French technical inspection through April 2027, and is ready and waiting to go with its lucky new keeper.

✓ We also check whether vehicles are recorded as being written off as part of an insurance total loss claim at the time an advert is placed on Car & Classic and we helpfully provide write-off category labels (Cat C/D/S/N) for your assistance. However, the presence or absence of a label does not guarantee the vehicle’s status and it is always worthwhile carrying out your own full vehicle history check before making an offer on a vehicle.
