Description
KEY FACTS
- A rare and highly desirable classic British grand tourer, this Aston Martin DB4 Series 5 Vantage is an uprated and more performance-focused version of the marque’s iconic 1960s coupe.
- It is powered by a 4.7-litre straight-six engine, driving the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive.
- First registered in July 1963, this example was acquired by the seller in 2015. It then underwent significant refurbishment work, including a full respray and re-trim, and is noted to have been meticulously maintained since.
- The Current Owner took delivery of the Vehicle in 2015 after the car had been fully restored.
- The odometer indicates 3,943 miles, though this is not warranted, and is the mileage covered since the car was restored and its odometer was reset.
EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES
- The DB4 Series 5 Vantage represents the final and most developed iteration of the DB4 line, featuring faired-in headlights and a higher-performance engine specification.
- This example is finished in a refined shade of silver, over a red leather-trimmed interior, featuring a contrasting black dashboard and door cappings, red carpets, and chrome trim highlights.
- It rides on a set of 16-inch chrome Borrani cross-spoke wire wheels with three-spoke knock-offs, fitted with Michelin Pilote X tyres.
- Equipment includes a wood-rimmed three-spoke steering wheel, Smiths gauges, an analogue clock, a Motorola push-button radio, a locking glove compartment, and push-out rear quarter light windows.
- The car has received some sympathetic modernisation, including a concealed air conditioning system and a modern audio system.
- The car is accompanied by two keys, the V5C, an owner’s instruction book, and a collection of maintenance invoices.
CONDITION
- Please refer to the photo gallery to assess the exterior and interior condition.
- Specific notes from the seller include: the car has previously undergone a full respray. The interior has also been fully re-trimmed.
- The car’s last MOT test was conducted on 18 August 2017 at an indicated 27 miles, which resulted in a first-time pass with no advisories.
SERVICE HISTORY
- This DB4’s most recent maintenance was carried out in February 2025 by Aston Martin specialist Richard Stewart Williams Ltd, which consisted of an engine oil and filter change, the differential oil being changed, replacement lower kingpin bearings, new kingpin gaiters, a new fuel filter, two new rear spring spacers, and new spark plugs being fitted.
- In June 2025, technicians at Richard Stewart Williams Ltd fitted a new balanced clutch assembly, fitted a new clutch release arm and bearing, set up the clutch release mechanism, and fitted a new clutch slave cylinder.
- Other notable maintenance includes the air conditioning system being fitted in December 2019 by Aston Service London.
- Technicians at Richard Stewart Williams Ltd carried out major maintenance in May 2015, including stripping and rebuilding the engine, gearbox, and axle.
- Please note: significant restorative work is documented in the invoices displayed in the photo gallery.
