The Appeal

Oft-celebrated as being one of the most over-engineered of Mercedes-Benz' golden age, the W126 is a remarkably enduring car. Bruno Sacco's styling remains timeless and inimitable, while the hardware seems to only prove itself as more bulletproof by the year. It's full of executive luxury too - from deep wooden veneers to impressively piled carpets. A retro car that ticks all of the boxes for an eminently drivable classic.
This handsome example comes to us in fine order, with a low mileage believed to be genuine by the vendor and a known ownership history going back thirty years. The vendor elaborates:
"This car was bought by a gentleman in Croydon in the early 90’s with 11,000 miles on the clock. It was then passed down to his son, who took it with him to Newcastle. The odometer reading at this time was circa 22,000 miles. I know this as I made contact with the gentleman that owned it.
It was then sold to a lady in an affluent area of Newcastle and was owned by her for several years until the early 2000’s (no contact made), which then brings it to the previous owner. He keptand cherished this car for 20 years, using it very sparingly. Records show that the car covered merely 20 miles a year.
This then brings it to my ownership. I bought the car on 62,300 miles and have covered over 2,000 miles since owning it, 300 of which were on the day of purchase driving it back from Newcastle to London."
