Description

Background.

Introduced as a more refined and practical alternative to the track-focused Elise and Exige, the Evora combined the marque’s trademark lightweight handling with improved comfort and usability and was designed to compete with benchmarks like the Porsche Cayman. Powered by a Toyota-sourced, 3.5-litre V6 (2GR-FE) enhanced by bespoke Lotus software, and offering 276bhp, 0-60 in 4.9 seconds (IPS) and 162mph, the Evora delivered strong performance alongside legendary Toyota reliability.

The six-speed Intelligent Precision Shift (IPS) automatic transmission was developed to broaden the car’s appeal, offering both ease of use in everyday driving and greater accessibility for a wider range of drivers. Equipped with paddle shifters, the IPS system allows for manual control when desired, while maintaining the convenience of a traditional automatic.

The Car.

This, 2013 Lotus Evora IPS is a right-hand drive Japanese import, finished in Starlight Black and presents in very good overall condition, having covered just 52,818 kilometres which equates to around 32,820 miles. As is often the case with Japanese imports, the car has a limited service history but has clearly been well cared for, with its condition reflecting attentive ownership.

Evoras were available in either a conventional two-seat arrangement with a flat luggage shelf behind the front seats or, as in this case, a 2+2 configuration featuring small rear seats suitable for (small) children or additional cargo storage. The, heavily bolstered, Recaro sports seats provide exceptional lateral support during spirited driving and the sporty interior, featuring extensive use of hand-stitched Charcoal leather, grey cloth and authentic machined Aluminum trim, remains in very good condition.

The car sits on standard 10-spoke Evora alloys, 18" x 8.0J at the front and 19" x 9.5J at the rear, with Lotus centre caps all appearing to be in excellent condition.

Overall, the car presents very well and has strong visual presence, combining Lotus performance with the rare practicality of 2+2 seating and the versatile automatic gearbox.
