The Appeal
The Vicarage Classic Car Company earned a strong reputation for taking the much-loved Jaguar Mk2 and transforming it into something altogether more usable, blending the car's sleek styling with modern mechanicals and creature comforts. These conversions were costly when new and remain sought after today.
This 1962 example was originally commissioned by Mr Sue of Hong Kong, with the specification encompassing XJ-S type power-assisted rack and pinion steering, improved suspension, air-conditioning, electric windows, an electric sunroof, central locking, Daimler Vanden Plas front seats, and a Nakamichi sound system. The car was further enhanced in 2008 with the installation of a 5-speed Getrag manual gearbox by marque specialist Classic Motor Cars Ltd.
Finished in British Racing Green and accompanied by a history file including Vicarage's conversion documentation, this Mk2 has formed part of a private collection of landmark classics and been professionally stored since the current vendor acquired it.
